Ink manipulation is commonly used in cartoons and anime to get a stretched out effect of a particular scene. In photography it could be used to portray different feelings to make us feel a different  way, an example i have of this is by a user on pinterest that is by a french artist that name i cannot find.

The multiple exposure is more of a soft and elegant type of form thats effective to use and easy to create once you know what is needed. this is done by photographer Saradouble-exposure-11.jpg

Fragmentation is an odd way to do an image. its not known as much in the photography industry to do something as creative as this. this photographer  has really caught my eye because of how all her works seem to fall off the pageFragmenta-Micaela-Lattanzio-Collater.al-3-697x1024.jpg

Plan

we are in a group of 3 and have decided to do stop motion animation using photographs that we will take later on during the time we have. I wrote a plan before we edited most of it.

College
– Each write suicide notes and pick the best one, possible edit some mor touching features in.
– It’ll be photography animation ( stop picture animation )
– Record each of the instruments individually
– Write individual notes, pick out parts that match whatever are trying to say and make one big one
– Take the photographs
– Draw on them maybe to add more context that we can’t give through emotion ?
Second week
– practise the instruments for Breath
– Record individually
– Put them together
– Get the vocals
– Edit the video
– ( anything extra we I’ll add in last minute then and there )
we still have alot of planning to do before we start going into things, just got to write out some notes and pick what one is best!

Animation

  • Hand drawn
  • CGI ( computer generated imagery)
  • Stop motion
  • Cut out animation
  • Live-action

Frames: FPS, different image per frame

Rotoscoping: animators trace live action movement, frame by frame.

Cel animation: a cel, short for celluloid is transparent sheet on which objects are drawn or printed for traditional, hand-drawn animated.

Limited Animation: Limited animation is a process of making animated cartoons that does not redraw entire frames but variability reuses common parts between frames. Examples of this is manga and the Hannah Barbra animation.

Paper cut out animation.

Strengths: cut-out animation provides a really effective feel

Limitations: time consuming and it can be limiting.

Silhouette animation

Definition: a variant of cutout animation in which the characters are blacklist and only visible silhouettes

Fact: The game Limbo closely mirrors the effect of the silhouette / cutout animation and mirrors its slow movements and stylistic qualities. This form of animation also compliments its dark storyline.

Live action with animation

Strengths: makes films more accessible for families and adds a humorous tone.

Limitations: Expensive to make, as requires both animators and the cost hiring the cast.

Stop motion – animation

Strengths: Animators look really effective and stop motion has man sub-genres that each create really unique animations.

Limitations: it can be very time consuming and takes lots of planning.

CGI animation

Strengths: It allows people that are not good at art to become animators and is more accessible to everyday people.

Limitations: Software suits and computers can be expensive and some suggest CGI does not produce such authentic characters.

CGI has revolutionized animation and the techniques available to animations.

Evaluation

At the beginning it was a muddle on what we all wanted to do, we knew that the topic was food, we had one set straight and that was the chicken nuggets but nothing else. we were torn between pancakes, curry buns and cakes  / donuts, we settled on donuts in the end. That day i found pictures for inspiration for the mood board that turns out to be similar to one of our final projects. We had our rick assessments done and our plans for our day out the next day. we booked the studio for 11-1, we had more than enough time to get prepared. The next day we did indeed get what we needed, it was a long trip but it was worth it, the results were absolutely amazing. I enjoyed making my scene look as blended and aesthetic as possible as i had a vision from one of the mood board picture i saw. As this took us 2 days (+1 for the editing of them) it was fairly easy and something that i enjoyed, we all had roles to do and those roles we all enjoyed. no one was left doing nothing we were all doing something and communicating. This is so far my favourite project, really anything with aesthetics is my favourite as its so nice to blend and the food photography with it really topped it off.

After reading the feed back the one thing that was bugging everyone was the mug, it didn’t have anything in it, so i quickly went into Photoshop and added some. from a far it looks fine its only when you zoom in it doesn’t. this is one of my goals this year, become better at Photoshop. mine WITH COFFEEEE.png

Food Photography

Yesterday we managed to shoot our foods. We all decided to have a different idea, but Izzy and Allie had the same idea but different. i went more for an aesthetic look to mine. I am aware that the focus is supposed to be on the donuts but i wanted to add some lights and a book to it, i thought it made it look pleasing to the eye, with just the right amounts of contrast of the colours. I haven’t edited them yet but here they are un-edited.mine.jpgnugs.jpg

We made a mood board that had similar looks to how i did my image, that is the first one. With my artistic look to improve images to Alfies magnificent  photography skills we managed to make this image look truly spectacular. Instead of using Photoshop to edit these, im going to use a paint tool to make them look grand.

First we have the nuggets, I added some yellow lumi to make them look more gold than they already were just to make it pop and seem like they were really like that.download.png

The second one (my personal favourite) of the donuts i wanted to make it as pastel and light but i didnt want to take away the concept of the actual image so i had to make it lumi AND shade.download (1).jpg

all together yesterday was a pretty good success and i enjoyed it alot. All thats left to do is the risk assessment for the shoot yesterday and thats a wrap for this mini project.

all i needed to do for the progression on these photos are fairly simple as its only on an art program.Capture2.PNG

This was the original before i decided to have the baby pink filter over it, looking at it now i think the original would look a lot better.

Capture.PNG

The nugget one is how exactly we all wanted it to be, golden nuggets to really make them pop out and there is nothing that i would change about this.

Food Photography week challenge

we have been giving a task by ingrid to do food photography but to make it aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I’m in  group with  two people and so far we have come up with a plan for today and tomorrow. To get the items we need we will need to go off site and get what we need for a shoot, already we have gotten the studio booked for out video and photography shoot. we already have an idea on what we’re going to do with the food. we decided to do chicken nuggets and donuts. we have Video and Photography, video will be chicken nuggets, dipping them in some sauce in slow motion, this we are going to have just one for all of us, this’ll be in  boomerang like motion to get the gif effect but more smooth. However, we are going to use  the donuts in a different way. we are going to explore out creativity by doing different ideas but sharing props that we will bring in tomorrow. we all have a separate ideas for out donut idea, later on over lunch I’m going to sketch out an idea that i have and to reference ideas from pintrest that incorporates with my idea, it’ll be pastel with nature / lights, something that you would find right of tumblr.so far this is all we have to do for today. planning for today then tomorrow we will get down to the nitty gritty.

Evaluation

At the beginning of the project, I was hesitant about what I wanted to do as well as my skills towards the subject I picked. We all were all told to pick a subject that we are all passionate about. The popular pick as fashion but I chose politics as I felt and still do feel that not enough young people know what’s going on with it. If you hear the word politics you think instantly long speeches, votes and unnecessary changes. I wanted to make it completely different, make it interesting; Almost like a teen magazine that is interesting, so I decided to name my magazine ‘Political Tea’ and have the tag line as ‘that’s the tea sis’ to keep up to date with the regular sayings. As I’m doing politics it’ll be hard to get a picture of Theresa May and Donald Trump so I decided I would illustrate them, before I did that I needed to get some inspiration so I headed on down to Pinterest to find some politic art. There was plenty of art to get inspired of, but I brainstormed an idea of a V.S kind of idea between May and Trump, but I don’t want it to seem like they’re going to fight as they’re so close, so I just left it blank with them still face to face.

About a week later we all had to get everything together and plan out our mood board and practice expressions and different camera angles along with Photoshop practice. We updated our blog regularly to update and keep note on what we’ve done during the day and what we can improve on. At this point we had a 1 to 1 where we talked about how we’ve improved since our last project and what we are doing well on etc. We were given the materials to try and make projection and movement photography to recreate and put on our blog, this led onto the proper prep for our magazine cover, I helped take one photo for my friend’s magazine. As I was doing art there wasn’t a lot of health and safety risks, however there were still risks to it but not as many risks as an actual shoot. For me there was only the risk of overheating my laptop and some tripping hazards with the amount of wiring going on, so the health and safety part was fairly easy on my half.

Recently I had to go through my check list to make sure I’ve done everything before finishing / starting my magazine cover everything was done the mood board was done, blogs etc were done and all good. Today as I’m sat here writing this, I’ve just finished my magazine cover. I have tried my hardest to make May and Trump look similar in detail and I think I’ve done well personally. Looking back onto what I’ve done I feel like I could have put more effort into them but what is done is done and I can’t change that now. I am very happy with my work although I would love to know Photoshop better so I can put my images and ideas into place instead of having to half ass it when I know it could have looked greater than it is already. This has been by far the best subject for me as I am quite passionate about politics and I hope my message of that has spread and will spread to show that there is some drama and stupid things going on in politics that’ll make you laugh.

Health and Safety Risk Assessment

Today we were supposed to write down the risks within our work ( photoshoot ) the risks that are around us and how to avoid / fix them. The only problem with mine is that im drawing mine digitally, this’ll be hard to do as there aren’t many risks to working digitally. I’ve managed to name some down, such as Capture.PNG The severity and Likelihood are both ranked between 1-5. 1 Being not risky at all and 5 being extremely risky. we would name an activity as shown followed by a Hazard, people at risk, current controls and the two i mentioned a second ago. with how you think the situation is on a scale of 1-5, you would get the Severity x Likelihood and the risk rating will be your result. I’m yet to still do another risk assessment task but I’m .ot sure what it is. I need to finish my drawing of trump then i’ll do may. ill need to actually make my magazine then do my Evaluation, I am close to being done but I’m still far from the finishing line.
