What is glitchcore?

Glitchcore is a music genre as well as an art / editing style, for the art style of things, its got to be bright colours placed over some regular art OR place it into the art itself it give it more of a trippy effect. The goal of glitchcore is to make anything look irregular, it can be made from classical paintings to stick figures and it’ll make it look like a complete different piece.

Its difficult for me to explain glitchcore in a way without talking but i do think these images are best fitted to help understand glitchcore more.

FML final sketch / planning

I’ve got my last sketch idea, I would love to do a horse on a carousel but make it gore. So far ive got a rough sketch idea on what I would like it to look like, I’ll be doing some digital sketches to see if it can really fit my goal as well as different perspectives to add some more in and background practising.

All that’s left for me to do is get together a mood board with secondary and primary research.

FMP Final ideas

Today my aim is to do some digital glitch core practise and some research on images that i can use for reference when doing so.

On behalf of r/eyeblech on reddit I know what I want to do, the images are far too explicit to put here or anywhere really so ill just be referencing them on my phone / computer. The overall theme I would like to go for is a carousel but a real horse, making the gore element there as well as glitching out some fake and real parts of the horse, I think this can work very well if put together right.

Jaroslav Rossler

Born in Czechia 25th may 1902, this photographer was really ahead of his time doing abstract art. He only had black and white photography at his dispense at the time but he made it work, to me this makes his work look sharper and more intriguing.

1923:In 1923, he became a member of the avant-garde association Devětsil.
1925:In 1925, he went on a six-month study visit to Paris.
1927:In 1927, Rössler moved to Paris together with his wife, Gertruda Fischerová (1894–1976).
1935:Shortly after that he was arrested, and after a six-month imprisonment he was expelled from the country, in 1935.
1990:Jaroslav Rössler died on January 05, 1990 in Prague, Czech Republic.

Even to today, Jaroslav Rössler with  František DrtikolJosef Sudek and Jaromír Funke, is today considered an important exponent of Czech modern photography and avant-garde art. Its very hard to find proper sources for Jaroslav, the only sources where i figured everything out is the wikipedia page. He later died Smilov – 5 January 1990, Prague.

Proposal

Since starting the year Ive been encouraged to try more, use different medias. As a more digital artist I can enjoy traditional but not as much as I could. While getting on Ive found enjoyment through watercolor again, this gives me a lot more opportunities to experiment while exploring different medias.

Throughout the year while being encouraged to use different medias Ive also been a lot looser and messier with my art, not caring too much about it being perfect, this is really pushing me to be bolder with my work and not afraid to make mistakes along the way.

My aims for this project I think is very simple but also a challenge. Theres many ideas I would like to try and get down for experimentation, such as glitchcore, gore, glitching, murder, documents, paranormal and melting. ALL these ideas I would love to do and get down as there all something interesting for me and can have a wonderful form of practical.

For researching, I would like to only focus on my main three elements, this’ll be glitchcore, gore and glitching. I’ve always loved how glitchcore gore can look and appeal to the eye, but to be able to accomplish this I will need to do research, specifically what methods I can use, how to use this in different formats, see what artists do to make their pieces pop.

For doing practical in college, I will need to bring a laptop in and find somewhere with a plug so that I can have a whole day to really crack on at doing all my concept experimentation ideas. As for when I’ll be doing traditional and adding perhaps some collage will possibly be when I have something tha5t will just fit that category type well and make it.

Practical practise

Today I went to work on the two main elements I would like to have in my FMP, the first one was glitch core. I used a mixture of pencil, water colour and acrylic paint. I like how it turned out, I found that the paint was a mistake as it didn’t turn out as well as I’d expected, however I do like how the rest came out. This was really the first time actually trying with pencil work since school.

With my gore piece I wanted it to be genuine. I like to draw gore form either hoe I’m feeling or what music I’m listening to. This was a very rough sketch and took around 15 minutes to do, a simple pencil piece. I made a lot of alterations for this one was it was full body but I felt it destroyed the whole point of what I was going for. I noted in my book that it was just a whole cluster of things that I want to try.

For my next to do list is to study on how to make gore elements look good and presentable- so, that would have to be on how the organs in the human body are drawn / coloured, how skin tears, how blood falls and the texture, as well as eye gore. There will be a lot of research to do between these two elements, I would love to do two more but digitally to see if anything changes, I will perhaps do the exact same method for both or something different, it really depends.

upon doing the digital piece, I DID infract decide to do the same as the sketchy traditional but with a twist. I took somethings off as it was a little cluttered as well as adding in the blood, i wanted to see how well I could do the blood and I do need more practise for sure.

What is data?

In a a simple term data is information, this can be stored either through a database or physically stored in filing resources. Anything we type, do, watch, film is data- short story, most things we do is data, Its writing down anything you can think of, anything factual or even not. Its facts, figures, statistics, details, features and more, having knowledge at your disposal. Now in the 20th century easier more than ever to get this data. The internet is the biggest form of data information there has ever been, and yes, paper copies do exist its just nowhere near enough than what the internet is. We do have to be careful, as mis information can be spread and lead up to corrupted or mislead data. This article about what data is puts it more into perspective than I ever could: What is Data? (computerhope.com)

Data mind map

I found doing the mind map very hard as there’s a lot to put down for data, everything that’s in formation related is data, can be physical or stored on a computer, literally anything we do and store, write down is data.
